With Christmas shopping in full swing, it looks like online scammers are out to make a buck with puppy ads. I’ve seen a lot of online classifieds for Yorkies written like this:

Pet of the Week: Samantha
Samantha is a pretty, three-year-old calico mix cat. Samantha spent much of her life locked in a room because her owners thought she’d harm the new baby. As sensible folks know, that’s an old wives tale that has long run its course. Samantha is surprisingly friendly and looking for parents that will […]

Pet Heroes Honored
The ASPCA recently honored Toby the dog and Winnie the cat for saving their loved ones. Toby jumped on his choking owner, dislodging a piece of apple from her throat. Winnie saved her family from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Their lives as heroes may never have happened. As a puppy, Toby was tossed in […]

Online Pet Scams 101
Pets are often used as bait in online scams. Here are some things to avoid when looking at online pet ads:
- Never buy a pet sight unseen. You wouldn’t buy a car without a test drive, would you? Meeting the pet and its owner ensures you’re getting a healthy animal, not to […]
